The Nike Air Max2 CB ‘94 “Gym Red” is a mostly two-tone, black-and-red colorway of Charles Barkley’s classic signature shoe. Debuted in 1994, the Air Max2 CB ‘94 was worn by the Basketball Hall of Famer with the Phoenix Suns back in the day, and is considered one of the very best performance hoops shoes of Nike’s ‘90s-era glory years. Quintessentially retro, the “Gym Red” is a Tinker Hatfield designed shoe inspired by the look of a straightjacket. The black leather overlays along the eyelets and midsole mimics the look of the confined garment. White “Nike” embroidery is stitched onto the midfoot harness that supports the lacing system and black accenting is located on the nylon tongue. A classic “Nike Air” logo is located on the heel and a mini Swoosh is seen on the back of the midsole. Like the original Air Max2 CB ‘94, this retro version of the shoe features a visible Air unit in the heel. Release date: Summer 2024
