The Nike Air Max Pre-Day “Pure Platinum” is a futuristic yet retro-inspired low-top shoe that debuted on Nike’s Air Max Day in March 2021. Borrowing its name from the late Steve Prefontaine, the Air Max Pre-Day is informed by classic Nike running shoes like the Waffle Racer and modern lifestyle looks. On the “Pure Platinum” colorway, a white woven material forms the base and Pure Platinum hits appear on the toe, eyelets and various overlays along the sides and on the heel counter. A white leather Swoosh on the mid-panel extends past the heel and forms into a pull tab on the back of the shoe. Yellow exposed foam padding appears on the sides of the vintage-inspired cream-colored nylon tongue. A visible Max Air unit in the heel of the white EVA foam midsole cuts a strikingly modern look. The thin black rubber outsole is rounded on the heel. Release date: Spring 2021.
