Prior to atmos' design of the Air Max 1 in 2007, the Elephant Print around the mud guard had hardly ever been seen on the shoe. However, it is the shape of the mud guard, which is wider and more authentic to the original than many retro AM1 colorways, that really helps this colorway remain at the top of wish lists. Although the leather toebox on the AM1 may not normally be a popular choice, the atmos x Nike Air Max 1 "Elephant" colorway has shown that it can be.
